 2009 The RCOG William Meredith Fletcher Shaw Lecture which I entitled “Inspiring and Teaching the Next Generation.” 
 2012 The RCOG Sims Black Travelling Fellow when I went to Egypt to lecture and teach on Laparoscopic Surgery.
 
Over the years I have given many lectures around the world,mainly on endoscopic surgery with a particular focus on safety and training.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
External Examiner MSc.in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery. University of Surrey from 2013.
RCOG Lead for Gynaecological Simulation 2009 – 2014.
BSSVD Council Member 1996-99
President, Plymouth Medical Society 1998-9
 
Management
 
Locally, I have been Clinical Director of Derriford Hospital's Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department on three separate occasions, most recently from 2013 – 2015. 
 
Nationally, I was elected Vice President of the BSGE twice, 2002 – 2004 and 2008 – 2010, and served as President 2010 – 2012
I served on RCOG Council as the South West Fellows' representative since I was elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2013, completing my term of office in 2016.
