Jonathan Frappell's qualifications

A brief summary of my career

Having qualified at St.Bartholomew's Hospital, London in 1977,I then undertook surgical training in Bristol and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and of Edinburgh in 1983.

My subsequent training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology was mainly at St George’s Hospital, London where, following the award of the Membership of the RCOG in 1986, I became a Senior Registrar.During this time I had extensive training in gynaecological oncology and for the first ten years of my consultant appointment was one of the three consultants providing the cancer service at Derriford.
I was awarded the Fellowship of the RCOG in 1998.

Following rationalisation of cancer services locally I decided to step down and concentrate on developing my interest in laparoscopic surgery for benign gynaecology. I was responsible for developing the Derriford Endometriosis Centre which is accredited by the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE),working closely with Professor Mark Coleman, an internationally renowned laparoscopic colorectal surgeon.
We have recently published our results.
